We at Brentwood Lions take our turn along with some of the other service clubs in Brentwood to provide a driver and helper to transport members of Brentwood PHAB (Physically Handicapped & Able Bodied) Club to their social centre in Warley for evening events. The use of the minbus which has been modified to be able to take the PHAB members ensures that they are able to maintain a social life regardless of any disability. This is very important to them and all it takes is a few people to give a little of their time.
We have for a number of years funded transport for a number of disabled people to be collected from their homes and taken to and from social events organized by some of the clubs and charities to which they belong. Again this is something that provides an important service for individuals that may otherwise have no or very little social interaction.
